Planning for the Future

Planning for the future is important for every family, but especially if you have a child with special needs. It can also be a scary process.  For parents and caregivers, it means imagining a world where you may not be there to take care of your loved one.

We understand there are so many aspects involved in future planning: financial, service-related, housing needs, and decision-making options. We put together this blog series to help explore the options around decision-making. While many families look to guardianship, there are many other less restrictive options out there to consider as well.

This coming blog series will explore:

  • What is Guardianship
  • Fact or Fiction: Myths about Guardianship
  • Supported Decision-Making
  • Alternatives to Guardianship

We hope this series will provide insights and resources to help you lay out a plan for the future that best fits your family’s needs.
